The film was inspired by Erich Segal’s novel “Love Story” (1970)
Just like the novel and film, Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se tells the story of a young couple who fall in love during college, only to face a tragic separation due to illness.
The lead character, Lily (Ranjeeta), dies of leukemia, which shocked many viewers and left them in tears.
It was one of the earliest Indian films to show a romantic heroine dying of cancer with dignity and grace.
In 2005, Rajshri released a sequel called Jaana Pehchana, with the same characters played by Sachin and Ranjeeta.
The story continues after Lily’s death, showing Arun’s (Sachin’s) life as a successful author who is still mourning her loss.

Meaning of words -
1- "सांवरे" (Saawre) gives it both a romantic and spiritual touch, often equated with Lord Krishna or a deeply loved person with charm and mystery.
