Lyrics –

Mera kuchh saamaan Tumhare pas padaa Hai

There is something That You have me

Some of my belongings are with you

Mera kuchh saamaan Tumhare pas padaa Hai

There is something That You have me

Some of my belongings are with you

saavan ke kuchh bhige bhige din rakhe Hai

some wet days of rainy season are there

aur mere ek khat mai lipati raat padi Hai

and a night folded into one of my letters

vo raat bhujha do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

Remove that night from memories and return my belongings to me

vo raat bhujha do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

Remove that night from memories and return my belongings to me

Mera kuchh saamaan Tumhare paas padaa Hai

There is something That You have me

Some of my belongings are with you

Mera kuchh saamaan Tumhare paas padaa Hai

There is something That You have me

Some of my belongings are with you

saavan ke kuchh bhige bhige din rakhe Hai

some wet days of rainy season are there

aur mere ek khat mai lipati raat padi Hai

and a night folded into one of my letters

vo raat bhujha do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

Remove that night from memories and return my belongings to me

patjhad Hai kuchh Hai naa

it was autumn then, no?

patjhad me kuchh patto ke girane ki aahat

In that autumn the whisper of the falling leaves

kaano mai ek baar pahan ke laut aai thi

I had brought back those whispers once by wearing them as earrings

patjhad ki vo shaakh abhi tak kaap rahi Hai

That Branch of Autumn is still shivering

vo shaakh giraa do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

make that branch fall down and return my belongings to me

vo shaakh giraa do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

make that branch fall down and return my belongings to me

ek akeli chhatri mai jab aadhe bhig Rahe thay

when we were getting half wet in a single umbrella

ek akeli chhatri mai jab aadhe aadhe bhig Rahe thay

when we were getting half wet in a single umbrella

aadhe sukhe aadhe gile, sukhaa to mai le aayi thi

half wet half dry, the dryness was brought by me

gilaa maan shaayad bistar ke paas padaa ho

But perhaps my drenched heart remained next to the bed

vo bhijvaa do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

Send that back, and return my things to me

ek sau solaah chaand ki raate ek Tumhare kandhe kaa til

One hundred and sixteen moonlit nights, and the single mole on your shoulder

ek sau solaah chaand ki raate ek Tumhare kandhe kaa til

One hundred and sixteen moonlit nights, and the single mole on your shoulder

gili mehnadi ki khushbu, jhuth-muth ke shikave kuchh

The fragrance of wet henna, and some unreal tantrums

jhuth-muth ke vaade bhi sab yaad Kara dun

Shall I remind you of all the false unreal promises also

sab bhijavaa do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

send all of them back and send me back my belongings

sab bhijavaa do, Mera vo saamaan lautaa do

send all of them back and send me back my belongings

ek Ijaazat de do bas, jab isako dafanaaungi

Just give me one permission that when I will bury all of this

mai bhi vahi so jaaugi

I will also lay there

mai bhi vahi so jaaugi

I will also lay there

Absolutely the best lyrics from Bollywood. And great translation too. Gulzar is so good. And very apt translation too.

I wonder what you or Dr.Zakir Naik think about the word "genius". I am asking most humbly. To me it means "Survival of the fittest".
