Government to File Special Leave Petition Against Salman Khan's Acquittal

Bollywood star Salman Khan was pronounced guilty by the trial court of running over five people sleeping on a pavement outside a laundry in suburban Bandra with his Toyota Land Cruiser, killing one and injuring four others on October 28, 2002.

After that Salman Khan filed appeal in the Bombay High Court.
After that in Just 7 months of time Bombay High Court acquitted Salman Khan of all charges in the hit-and-run case after citing failure of the prosecution to conclusively prove drunken driving charges against the actor.

Now Maharashtra State Government has informed the Bombay High Court that it will file a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court, which had acquitted Salman Khan.
