Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Yahoo India to face criminal charges Government sanctions Prosecution of social networking sites
The Government has given sanction for the prosecution of social networking
sites like Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Yahoo India for content regulation.
Currently matter is pending in the Delhi High Court but Delhi Court issued summons
social networking sites to face criminal charges for allegedly hosting objectionable contents and directed them to appear before it on March 13.
As companies are foreign based the summons will be sent through Ministry of External Affairs.
The court ordered the accused to appear in person before it on the next date.
The executives of all 21 companies have been ordered to appear in court on next date.
Next date of the case is March 13.
When political workers damage the property Indian government or offices of media then
The chief of political party is not responsible thus in this case also no employee of social networking site is responsible.
When any boy rapes a girl his father and mother of the boy both are not responsible and they do not face criminal charges for keeping him in their home, in this case like this Google and Yahoo is not responsible.
Thus no company is responsible in the above matter.
There is process if you do not like content file the application or DMCA notice.
Get the IP address of the person who has posted the material and send him notice.
This is just a publicity stunt and makes people fear to machinery.
Last 64 years Indian citizens never got the opportunity to speak but now the social networking sites have given us the power to speak what you feel.
Express the feeling if you do not like the content do not visit the site.

Bikram's
I guess there is already a procedure to request for deletion in all these sites. Besides, there is a good deal of user regulation and flagging system in place. Not sure why or with what intention Govt. wants to bypass these mechanisms...
