Kushabhau Thakre trust

On September 25, 2004 BJP government , Uma Bharati government in Madhya Pradesh allotted 30 acres of land to a trust run by late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kushabhau Thakre.
Few news channels said 20 acres of land was allotted to the trust.



Who are the trusties Kushabhau Thakre trust trust which got the land?
Trustees include senior BJP party leaders L K Advani, M Venkaiah Naidu and Murli Manohar Joshi.

The land given to the Kushabhau Thakre trust was worth several crores while the trust paid just Rs 25 lakh for it and an annual rent of only Re 1.

A Bhopal-based NGO, Akhil Bhartiya Upbhokta Congress, had challenged the allotment
Of this land.

A bench comprising Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly cancelled the state government notification for alloting around 30 acres of land to the Trust run by late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kushabhau Thakre.

The Supreme Court directed the authority concerned to take possession of the land

Akhil Bhartiya Upbhokta Congress, a consumers' society registered in MP had approached the Supreme Court after the MP high court had refused to quash the land allotment.
