2G scam case started Five corporate executives move
application for bail CBI granted time to file reply

The CBI had filed its first charge sheet in the case on April 2 against nine persons and three leading Telecom companies –Reliance Telecom Ltd, Swan Telecom Ltd and Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Pvt Ltd.


The CBI is likely to file its second charge sheet in the case by April 25 and is to complete its probe by May 31.

In 2G spectrum scam or corruption currently 9 people are charged. Five are outside of the jail and four accused are in Jail.

In 2G scam corruption case who is currently in Jail?
Following are the 4 accused in 2G who are kept in Tihar Jail under judicial custody.

1. Former Telecom Minister A Raja

2. former Telecom Secretary Siddhartha Behura

3. Raja’s personal secretary R K Chandolia

4. Swan Telecom Promoter Shahid Usman Balwa

The five corporate executives who were not arrested in the case, had been summoned by the special court, specifically set up to try the 2G scam accused, to appear before it

All the five accused today first time appeared before the special court

Five corporate accused in chargesheet has applied for Bail in special court as they are now accused in the case CBI may arrest them.

1. Swan Telecom Director Vinod Goenka

2. Managing Director Sanjay Chandra, Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Ltd

3. Gautam Doshi - top official of Reliance ADA Group

4. Surrendra Pipara - top officialof Reliance ADA Group

5. Hari Nair - top official of Reliance ADA Group

advocate U U Lalit, who has been appointed as Special Public Prosecutor by the Supreme Court opposed the bail applications, saying, “Accused are not entitled for release on bail ipso facto (by default) on appearance before the court.
They will have to justify their bail pleas.”

The CBI is granted time to file reply and put up the matter for arguments on April 15

A Raja who is in Jail currently told to Court that "The food served to us is not of good quality," Raja complained to special CBI judge O P Saini.

Then Court Ordered that Food be given as per Jail manual.
