Gujarat violence - 2002 Gujarat violence and Godhra Train Burning
In February 2002 violence broke out across the state claiming around 2000 lives.
The Banerjee committee, set up by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in September 2004, in its report submitted in 2005 had said the burning of S-6 coach of Sabarmati express on February 27, 2002 was an accident started by people cooking food in the railway car and said there was no Muslim involvement.
The Nanavati Commission however termed the Sabarmati express incident as a 'pre-planned conspiracy' and gave a clean chit to Mr. Modi

As an aftermath of the riots, Modi submitted his resignation to the Governor and recommended the dissolution of the 10th Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
In the following state re-elections the BJP, led by Modi, won 127 seats in the 182-member assembly.

United States revoked a visa for Modi
Reason - He was cited for responsibility for violations of religious freedom under the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.

In April 2009, India's Supreme Court appointed a special team of investigators to look into the role Modi had played in the alleged anti-Muslim conspiracy.

Few website sites claim and say that Jashodaben Chimanlal Modi

was married to Modi in his native village, Vadnagar, in Mehsana district, when she was 18. At the time of her marriage, she had studied only up to Class VII. That is believed to have put a strain on their marriage.

A few days after the marriage, Jashodaben was sent back to her father Chimanlal’s house to complete her education.

As those who know her say, in a bid to please her husband and measure up to his exacting standards, she started studying in Dholaka and completed her SSC (old pattern) in 1972.

Then she completed a primary teacher’s course and worked in Ahmedabad for three months.

Subsequently, on 23 March 1978, Jashodaben joined a primary school in Dekwali village in Banaskantha district.

She was later transferred to the District Panchayat School in Roopal village where she worked for 12 years.

On 2 December 1991, she came to Rajosana village, where she currently lives. Villagers say that though she has been to Ahmedabad occasionally, she was never asked to stay on by her husband.

Jashodaben earns a monthly salary of Rs 10,000; she lives in a one-room tenement in the Panchalvas area in the village, and pays a rent of Rs 150 every month.

The 100 sq. ft. room has a tin roof, no toilets, and not even a bathroom.

The tap is located outside the house.

Today Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh has asked the following questions regarding Narendra Modi's marital status and demanded that the Gujarat Chief Minister reveal the whereabouts of his 'wife'.

Singh asked Modi why he is silent about his wife Yashoda and why he is hiding her.

He asked Narendra Modi to clarify whether he was still married or divorced

BK Chowla, June 16, 2010

There never has been a single corruption charge against Modi.
If there was one, Cong would have had CBI hounding him and a file would have been made by now.

As a person he may be corrupt and it does not get revealed. But the positive thing is under his rule there may be corruption but any work undertaken is executed.
About the fake encounter cases. In a populous state or country like ours to put an imprint some innocent lives/encounter may happen. But it leaves a strong print on the mind of criminals so they fear and thin k before doing any crime. Its called chanakya niti.
Any how after so much criticism he is stiil the master of politics. I think he is a great visionary leader.

thousands of acres of revenue land has been given to Adani at throwaway prices at Mundra and Dholera. So

Anonymous,  September 12, 2011

Dear Anonymous... You have a wrong picture of a bad man.
I know a man who was a bootlegger once.
Who was collecting "Pathani Vyaj" Interest from personal loans @ 10%/month.
Now that Lokayukta issues is on the court I am sure you will change your views.
No one talks of bad things of a person once he gains power.
How Corporates have mushroomed and grown 1000 times then what they where in 2001???
Who is aware about the gold smuggling done from Dubai by one of the favorite adopted company of MR CM?? The time is close for him. Dig more information and you will see the right picture of your idol. Someone has looted people of Gujarat, no body wants to talk of this. Godhra riots were self created!!! He collects 11 lacs for his party every time he goes to opening ceremony.. It was Yeddyurappa and then Nishank and who knows next may be Mr ?OD?

Anonymous,  September 12, 2011

What a change of view from June 17 2010 @ Anonymous wrote "MODI is a great great man...I hope one day he will be the PM of India" to August 28 2011 "Modi may not be corrupt but he is supporting theives and cheats". Well done Mr Anonymous you are getting educated. We should do our home work well. No one in High command at BJP want's him to be PM. He is being used only to siphon money out of Gujarat.

Kirtivasan Ganesan November 19, 2011

Muslims are difficult to be understood. They are extremely well-behaved and polished individuals.
But unfortunately India has had Hindu-Muslim problem since time unknown.
For any crime, the court will ask for evidence. Blaming Narendra Modi without convincing evidence will serve no purpose.

I don't know Mr. Modi personally , whatever I know about hIm is based on the articles published on him. To me it doesn't matter whether he is going to uplift hindus or kill muslims, as long as he is going to uplift india and indians without any personal goals.
What makes us hindu or muslim??? Were we born like that, the only known thing qbout all of us is we were born inthis country. The passport you will carry will have Indian as citizenship not the religion.
The non BJP parties are creating divide among us, their only agenda is to divide and rule. They are giving out sops for minorities!!!! Minorities???? What is minority?? Why does one consider himself in minority, we are 1billion dammn it. Forget that you are hindu or muslim . You are Indian first. At the time of war with Pakistan they wont fire bullets which will kill only Hindu or they dont plant bombs which kills only hindus. They kill indians.
Only BJP is the party whose ideology is based on one nation one nationanlism. Kick out these dogvijay rahul kind of ppl who just want to make divide and rule so that they can save themselves from justice

As available in onther sites modi married as 18 years then how it could be child marriage. And since they are not sepearated then its duty of him to support her at least. if a person can not support her own wife then as nation what could be expected

rudraprayaga June 10, 2013

I don't know much about Modi. But his corruption is much less than the Congress's.He is a visionary witha mission of development Why are the Muslim brothers so much furious about Hindus and their related parties?Did they suffer under Bajpayee? Do they suffer in Gujrat? They enjoy all the facilities in India much more than under the Muslim Reign. They are beneficial generally and in terms of minority. Why should there be minority or majority packages? All are Indians. The corporate and business tycoons acquire undew areas of land not only in Gujrat, but in a great degree all over India esp.in congress states. What have we read about Robert Vadera and DLF?I think the BJP stands for single civil code of full democracy.(Once I was a congress-minded person who dislikes all the politicians now). When we reside on one earth, under one sky, breathe one air, drink one water from Nature and hold one kind of blood and flesh, why should we fight as Hindus or Muslims? One day or other all will depart from here. Tolerance should be today's order of life.Hindu's tolerance only paved way to the other religions take root here. The so called Non-Hindus were once Hindus only. And the Sikks and the like are not different from the Hindus.Let us be together for a united India. An Indian Muslim will find no abode in Pakistan. Otherwise he should be Davood and his accomplices. So let's fight against the common rival, corruption.
Jai Hind!

sm,thank you for all these posts
