Khoon Bhari Maang directed by Rakesh Roshan and starring Rekha, is one of Bollywood’s boldest revenge thrillers.
It was loosely inspired by the Australian TV miniseries Return to Eden (1983), and became famous for its crocodile attack sequence, feminist undertones, and Rekha’s transformation arc.
The 2026 film Tu Yaa Main by Bejoy Nambiar openly paid tribute to Khoon Bhari Maang, even showing the trailer to Rekha and Rakesh Roshan for approval
The background score (especially during the crocodile attack) was heavily inspired by Hollywood thriller soundscapes of the 80s.
