National Anthem for Not Standing 13 Arrested

Last month, the Supreme Court asked all cinemas to play the national anthem before a film is screened, and everyone has to stand up to show the respect if do not stand up one will get punishment like jail sentence.

In Chennai, the seven people, including a woman, allegedly took selfies inside Chennai’s Kasi Theatre on Sunday when the national anthem was being played and one group did not like that they started to fight, later on one man from the group complaint to Police and Police took action
They questioned them and later booked them for offence

The one accused Leenus Roffun told to Hindu that They started verbally abusing us, which we tried to ignore. They then came up to us during the interval and began hitting us when we said it was our right to not stand for the anthem should we choose not to,”
The accused woman, identified as M Shreela, also lodged a counter-complaint against Vijayakumar and his friends, accusing them of threatening and abusing her.

In another incidence in Kerala, at least six persons were taken into custody for allegedly showing disrespect to the national anthem after they allegedly refused to stand up while it was being played at the ongoing International Film Festival of Kerala(IFFK).

Compelling to stand up or not is upto the court.When the country has set an Anthem, the citizens should respect it.

It's my first time to know a national anthem played before the movie started in cinemas. But I agree that every citizen should respect their Anthem. Not a hard thing to do.
