Microsoft Halts Windows 10 Insider Preview Builds for UUP
Microsoft today announced that they are temporarily halting Windows 10 PC Insider Preview build availability as they begin to switch their updating systems over from the old delivery method to the new Unified Update Platform.
In blog post Microsoft said following, UPDATE 12/2: We are getting ready to start releasing PC builds to Insiders using UUP. To prepare for this, we are going to pause all PC builds for both the Fast and Slow rings starting this evening (Friday 12/2). We will begin flighting the latest builds via UUP starting with our internal rings first then to Insiders based on each ring’s promotion criteria. We’re excited to be able to release builds for PC to Insiders using UUP! Mobile builds are not impacted by this.
Besides this Today Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14977 for Mobile to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.
Windows 10 phones with 8GB of internal storage such as the Lumia 550 will likely receive an 0x800700b7 error when attempting to update to this build.

It is incorporated into latest Insider builds and is called as Unified Update Platform (UUP).
What are the benefits of Unified Update Platform UUP?

2- No need to download full build, just download the new changes
3- No need to download full OS just download the latest changes
4- Using UUP, when your device checks for updates, the Windows Update service will evaluate which updates are needed by a given device. The Windows Update service then returns these updates to the device for download and install. Because more processing is being done by the service, this will lead to faster checks for update operations. It’s important to note that with UUP, nothing will look or behave differently on the surface, UUP is all underlying platform and service optimization that happens behind the scenes.
When Microsoft will release new insider preview builds for PC using UUP?
Date is not announced by the Microsoft but later this year first it will be released to the windows team that is internal rings then fast ring.
