Why and How Media Needs to Support NDTV regarding one day Ban

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has banned NDTV invoking the powers under the Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act, Ministry order said that it "orders to prohibit the transmission or re-transmission of NDTV India channel for one day on any platform throughout India with effect from 00:01 hrs. on 9th November, 2016 till 00:01 hrs. of 10th November, 2016".

Why BJP government has decided to Ban NDTV?
Reason to ban NDTV –
An inter-ministerial committee of the Information and Broadcasting ministry in its report said that the broadcaster “NDTV” had revealed "strategically-sensitive" details while covering the Pathankot terrorist attack.

As per media reports the content appeared to be violative of the programming norms, a show cause notice was issued to the channel.
In its reply, the channel said that it was a case of "subjective interpretation" and the most of the information they had put out was already in public domain in print, electronic and social media.

The Editors Guild of India has condemned the unprecedented decision of an inter- ministerial panel to take a leading Hindi channel off air for a day and termed it a "direct violation" of the freedom of the press. The editor's body demanded that the order be "immediately rescinded".

If today other Media channels does not help NDTV fully regarding ban they should remember that tomorrow, there number will also come and no one will come forward.

It’s not one day ban it is the test of ban, what happens if government bans one channel.

So what Indian news channels need to do?
Unite against order and go blank from 00:01 hrs. on 9th November, 2016 till 00:01 hrs. of 10th November, 2016". No News channel should broadcast the news and should show the solid unity and support to NDTV.

If for money reasons cannot do it then do it for 1 hour if this also cannot do it then minimum show some kind of sign or logo between 9 to 10 November 2016 and tell employs to put on or attach black ribbons on their respective dresses.

Media channels need to remember Todays Its NDTV and tomorrow your number will come.
Media needs to protect Freedom of Press and Freedom of Profession and Thought.

Whatever NDTV showed it was available in the social media, other news channels also showed same content or similar content.

BJP government and many other organizations got a habit to link everything with national love.
Anyone who does not agree with their thinking he becomes anti national he gets labelled as Anti-national.

If this ban succeeds, then many more will get banned for one or other reason terming or saying it as anti-national.

Reporting on Jammu and Kashmir will become cause and reason for one-day Ban for all the news channels

In era of Drones and Google Earth any one can spy on anywhere if he got the right skills.

Hope BJP government will withdraw the order asking NDTV India to go off the air for 24 hours as penalty for reporting on the Pathankot terror attack on January 2 this year.
