Egypt Bans Facebook Free Basics App Service
Free Basics, formerly known as the Internet.org app, is part of Facebook’s Internet.org organization
Facebook's partner in Egypt, telecom carrier Etisalat, began providing the Free Basics service two months ago
“We’re disappointed that Free Basics will no longer be available in Egypt,” Facebook told the AP in a statement.
The suspension of the Free Basics service, which an Egyptian telecom official told Reuters was not related to security concerns, security reasons.
Few days’ back Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) told Reliance Communications Network to hold the service.
Let us hope TRAI will also ban the Free Basics service

I cant understand what good is that going to do .. people will find other ways of accessing it ..

I guess this is gaining a lot of opposition in India too. I read TRAI is not too eager to allow this service. Let's hope so.
