Salman Khan Acquitted in Hit and Run Case No Murder No Accident
Salman Khan has been acquitted of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan had filed an appeal in the HC against the May 6 conviction by a Mumbai sessions court for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and a five-year sentence given as punishment.
The Bombay HC granted him bail on that same day and the actor, who's out on bail, was called to court for the pronouncement.
Few years ago, when the Mumbai cops told the trial court that a case diary and 55 documents related to the case were missing, it had become clear that investigators were not keen to preserve the evidence.
Prosecution ignored the Kamal Khan who was in the car present with Salman Khan.
Bombay High Court pointed out following
the prosecution just couldn't put together a water-tight case against Salman Khan.
Prosecution failed to corroborate initial evidence that 62 mg of alcohol was found in the actor's blood sample.
Prosecution failed to build on statements of witnesses who claimed to have seen Salman Khan getting down from the driver's side or those who had seen him get behind the wheel while leaving JW Mariott before the accident.
Ravindra Patil, the person who was in the car with Salman Khan died in the middle of the case.
How he died everyone needs to know, he was in police department but he died like a beggar.
Once again this case has proved that Indian laws are full of loopholes.
Once again this case has proved that India needs police reforms, and the manual for the police officers how to work, which steps to follow if do not follow the steps a jail term for police officer, like this India needs police reforms.
