Supreme Court rules all coal blocks granted in last 16 years illegal  218 Coal Blocks

The Supreme Court on Monday declared allocation of 218 coal blocks across the country as “illegal”, “arbitrary” and done in “most nontransparent ways.”

Chief Justice of India R.M. Lodha said that there was no transparency by the companies as well as the central government, on many occasions guidelines had been breached, the approach casual and at times illegal.”

It said the procedure adopted by the screening committee was “not fair” and no objective criteria were adopted in the process of allocation.

The SC said all allocation made in 36 meetings of screening committee since 1992 are illegal and arbitrary.

In next hearing Supreme Court of India will decide about whether these allocation should be scrapped or not

Let us hope that Supreme Court of India will scrap all the coal allocation, should take a strict view which will teach a lesson to everyone

If this does not happen then be sure that the illegal allocation of natural resources will continue in future also

Laws need to teach the lesson, a good law is a law which makes a billionaire a poor man, a beggar with just one order

This never happens in India.

Ouch. This sounds harsh but I can see where you are coming from.
