India DGCA gives permission to use mobile, laptops in Flight
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced the update on Wednesday saying that a section of the Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) has been amended to remove the ban on use of portable electronic devices while on board.
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has removed restrictions on the use of PEDs including cell phones during take-off and landing provided the device is in the flight or aero plane mode.
Till now, passengers were required to switch off their PEDs during take-offs and landings.
US Federal Aviation Administration and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency allow the use of PEDs in airplane mode in all phases of a flight.
Now India has also joined them by allowing the use of PED in flight mode.
Now on in a flight in India also you can turn on your cellphones laptops or tablets to listen to music, prepare that last minute presentation, play games or listen to music condition is use it only in a flight mode.
What is PED?
Portable electronic device (PED) is any piece of lightweight, electrically-powered equipment.
These devices are electronic devices capable of communications, data processing and utility, which include tablets, e-readers, laptops, smartphones and small devices such as MP3 players
Still using a mobile phone or other device for making a telephone call during all stages of a flight in the Indian Air Space is banned.
But problem in India is flight passengers few of them will use the cell phones, mobile phones on normal mode and who will control them
DGCA needs to give training to flight passengers about what is flight mode and explain them importance of flight mode and not to use cell phone on normal mode

It may be beneficial sure it may bring harm also.
