4,000 resident doctors across Maharashtra are threatening a strike to protest against the manhandling of a fellow resident doctor in Solapur Medical College by some policemen.

The young surgeon, Prashant Patil, refused to conduct urgent delivery of a pregnant woman.
Patil said that he was not experienced for the task as he was a surgery student and had advised them to take her to the delivery ward

The doctors have demanded immediate suspension of the accused policemen.
