12 Facts about 29th Telangana state Government Approves creation of the 29th state Telangana

The Congress Working Committee, the highest decision making body of the Congress party, had cleared the proposal to create Telangana two months ago.

1-
Union Cabinet approved the proposal of the Home Ministry for creation of the 29th separate Telangana state from out of Andhra Pradesh and decided to set up a Group of Ministers (GoM) to work out modalities.

Hyderabad will be the joint capital of the two states for 10 years.
Hyderabad will start out as a shared capital for 10 years, after which it will belong to Telangana,

The new state will have a geographical area of 10 of the 23 districts of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

The districts that to be part of the new state will be

1)Adilabad

2)Karimnagar

3)Khammam

4)Mahaboobnagar

5)Medak

6)Nalgonda

7)Nizamabad

8)Rangareddy

9)Warangal

10)Hyderabad

The Cabinet approved a GoM that will go into the issue of a special financial disbursement that may be required from the central government for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh, for building its capital and to cater to special needs of the backward regions.

The GoM will comprise Ministers of Home, Finance, HRD, Health, Irrigation, Power, Environment and Forests, Railways and Deputy Chairman Planning Commission and it will go into the economic issues on the creation of country's 29th state.

The Home Ministry will prepare another note for the Cabinet with the re-organization bill, on the basis of the recommendations and suggestions of the GoM, requesting the Cabinet to approve the state re-organization bill and recommend to the President to refer the Bill to the legislature of the State.

Currently AP got 42 Lok Sabha seats
Now 17 lower house seats would go to Telangana State and 25 to residuary Andhra

From the 294 seat legislative assembly 119 seats will go to Telangana and 175 to Andhra

Total 18 Upper House Seats
8 seats will go to Telangana and 10 to residuary state

Group of Ministers will work out modalities of the split.
Then GOM report will be prepared and it will form basis of a bill to be approved by Union Cabinet to carve the new state

The Cabinet's resolution on the creation of Telangana will be sent to President Pranab Mukherjee, with the recommendation that he refer it to the Andhra Pradesh state legislature
It will take Centre at least 115 days to introduce the state reorganization bill in parliament
