Gujarati film The Good Road to represent India at Oscars Academy Awards 2013

Filmmaker Gyan Correa's Gujarati film "The Good Road" has been chosen as India's entry for the best foreign film category at the Academy Awards 2013.

It is said to be the first Gujarati film to have made it.

The movie left behind 21 other contenders, including strong films like "The Lunchbox", "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", "English Vinglish", "Vishwaroopam", Malayalam film "Celluloid" and Bengali film "Shabdo

The film was picked by a committee appointed by the Film Federation of India (FFI), which was led by celebrated Bengali filmmaker Gautam Ghose.

A committee of 16 people was appointed to make the selection.

The Oscar ceremony will take place in March 2014.

The film bagged National Award for Best Feature Film (Gujarati) earlier this year.

The film released in theatres on 19th July 2013

Story Plot of Gujarati Movie The Good Road –

The Good Road is a journey of three people who are travelling on a highway.
They are all on a journey to achieve their respective pursuits, but over the next 24 hours, will discover something altogether different, something new and unexpected about their lives.
