NCERT is a progressive board. Their CBSE curriculum is quite good for kids. It's good that they are making available the courseware on the net. People can download and take printouts if they lost individual pages/chapters, etc. But reading online is tedious. We need a kindle like device for education in India.

NCERT books are no doubt good. But NCERT takes up a hell lot of space in central delhi. waste of space.
Another thing is they do not print books in time. once there was a shortage and SST books were not there in market. I went to NCERT campus and there was a queue of at least two kilometers. they did not even think of increasing counters. also all the people seemed to be slaves and behaving in "educated manner" standing in queue.
they should ensure supply of books at least 15 days before school opening. 15th June, say.
Web content is no good, in my opinion. Maybe one chapter you can read. Printing in computer printers all the 200 odd pages is sheer waste.
Web site is not a good idea.

Sir ur right the issue of books for students must b atlest before 10-15 days before school start but view on the content on website is not appreciated by my views sir im living in shillong where there is no supply of ncert i mean they dont use cbse they have there own board. In this cases ncert books being the most recommended books for civil services we have to down load from web itself rather to order or search. Thanks just my view sir
