2G scam as expected JPC gives clean chit to PM Manmohan Singh and P. Chidambaram

According to media reports
The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Thursday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and finance minister P Chidambaram have nothing to do with the 2G scam and gave a clean chit to Manmohan Singh and P Chidambaram.

JPC said both Prime Minister and the finance minister played no role in distorting norms of the auction.

The JPC report said that the 2G spectrum was allocated on 'first come, first serve' policy and those norms were tweaked to favor a few companies

The report, which was circulated among members today before its adoption on April 25, also accuses Raja of forging the press note of January 7, 2008 after it was seen by the then Solicitor General G E Vahanvati.

JPC said that both PM and FM duo was not told by the then Telecom Minister A Raja about the change in policy of the spectrum allocation.

JPC also did not agree with the loss figure of Rs. 1.76 lakh crore as suggested by the CAG.
