Himachal Pradesh Court framed corruption charges against Union Minister Virbhadra Singh and Pratibha Singh

In past Team Anna released a list of 15 Ministers demanding SIT inquiry against them [Reason - Corruption] in UPA Congress government and Union Minister Virbhadra Singh is one of the ministers from the list.

The corruption graft case is 23 years old.

In year 1989 Virbhadra Singh was the chief minister of the state.

Year 2007 –
Vijai Singh Mankotia released an audio cd.
The CD allegedly contained Mr. Singh's telephonic conversation with IAS officer Mahinder Lal.
IAS officer Mahinder Lal is dead now.
Audio CD also contained voices of his wife and some industrialists.

Virbhadra Singh and Pratibha Singh were booked by the police August 3, 2009, under the Prevention of Corruption Act for alleged misuse of his official position and criminal misconduct

The prosecution had filed the chargesheet against the couple in October 2010.

Union Minister Virbhadra Singh is Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

A trial court in Himachal Pradesh has framed corruption charges against Union Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife, Pratibha Singh.

under
Sections 7, 11 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act
and Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

charges against Pratibha Singh were framed under Section 9 of the Corruption Act and Section 120-B of the IPC.

Union Minister Virbhadra Singh has filed an application in the High Court
seeking either the transfer of the corruption case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or quashing a police complaint against him and his wife.

The above application is pending in High Court thus now trial court
adjourned the case sine die

Trial court will start its proceeding after the High Court verdict.

Union minister Virbhadra Singh resigned from the Cabinet.

But chance is that in coming elections if Congress wins then he will be again made Chief Minister.
If he becomes chief Minister then he will appoint his own lawyer and he will appoint government lawyer also in his own case in which he is accused of graft.

May be Himachal Pradesh next Chief Minister will be a person accused of corruption.

Another reason India needs Janlokpal bill.
