Education - Kripashankar Singh as per the affidavit submitted to Election commissioner of Maharashtra, claimed to be a graduate in the 1994 and 1999 Maharashtra assembly elections but stated in 2004 that he cleared his SSC examination in 1966, passed HSC in 1969 and studied no further. He claimed to have passed his HSC from Jaihind Inter College in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, in response to an RTI query by activist Sanjay Tiwari, the principal of Jaihind Inter College stated on November 9, 2010, that, according to the student register and transfer certificate, Singh had failed in his HSC exam.

However, the anti-corruption investigations revealed an enormous amount of disproportionate assets.

16. In the 2009 assembly elections, Singh won from the Kalina constituency in Mumbai.

17. In his election declaration, four properties owned by his wife as well as land owned in UP were not declared by Kripashankar.

19. According to bank documents, the statement of Samata Sahakari Bank accounts in the name of Narendra Mohan and his wife, Ankita, show four deposits by D B Realty, amounting to Rs 4.5 crore during 2008-09.

20. In March 2011, it was revealed that in 2008-9, 2G scam kingpin Shahid Balwa had channeled Rs 4.5 crores into an account held by Narendra and his wife.

21. "He is shown to have earned as MLA a salary of Rs 45,000 per month and in that salary has amassed more than dozen immovable properties. His assets are shown to be 11.69 per cent disproportionate to his known source of income.

22. On 22nd February 2012, the Bombay high court directed the city police commissioner to prosecute Kripashankar Singh for "criminal misconduct" under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

23. The court's order came during the hearing of a PIL filed by activist Sanjay Tiwari last year, who alleged that Singh had amassed properties worth Rs 300 crores illegally.

24. Singh resigned as president of the Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee soon after the high court ruling.

25. Because of the Court orders Mumbai police registered a case against Singh and his family under the Prevention of Corruption Act and for other charges.

26. Following the court directions, the SIT lodged a First Information Report at Nirmal Nagar police station in Mumbai's Khar on February 29.

27. The SIT had registered an FIR at Nirmal Nagar at Bandra where Singh stays with his family.

28. According to the FIR, Singh, his wife Maltidevi Singh, his son Narendra Mohan Singh, his daughter Sunita Singh, son in law Vijay Singh and daughter in law Ankita Singh (Narendra's wife) were accused of amassing wealth beyond their means.

30. Friday, March 02, 2012 - The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai police today sealed a bungalow belonging to former Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh

31. Police seized 2 BMW also belonging to him. Media Reported that The raiding officers also found 400 bullets and two licensed revolvers at Oceanic and Tarang

32. Singh's bungalow, named 'Tarang" in upmarket Bandra, has been sealed off

33. Officials also seized shop numbers 38 and 39 located at Galleria Shopping Centre at Powai.

The 15 properties that are in the process of being attached include: a duplex flat, measuring 1,355 sq ft at Jupiter building, Vile Parle (East), triplex flat On Mount Mary Road, Bandra, 22,500 sq ft office premises at HDIL building, Bandra Kurla complex, shops at the same building, 12,000 sq ft office premises at Wadhava building, Bandra-Kurla complex, 959 sq yards plot of land at Bandra Danda, a flat at Kingston B, Powai, 2,000 sq feet carpet area flat at Affaire, Turner Road, Bandra (west) and a flat at Abrosia building, Hiranandani Garden, Kurla.

35. Singh’s also own a commercial complex admeasuring 8,000 sq ft at Jaunapur, Uttar Pradesh, a shop at Panvel town, 260 acres of land at wadapeth, Ratnagiri district.

• 420 (cheating)
• 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant)
• 467 (forgery),
• 468 (forgery for cheating),
• 471 (using forged document)
• 201 (disappearance of evidence) of IPC
• sections 13 (1) (d) and (e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act

A lot of information. Read them all. Thanks for sharing.
Police has pride and is doing such a good job here. But criminals will go free thanks to legal system in India.
In India make laws and make it known, smart thieves read all these and come first in finding loophole. What is needed is laws which are hidden.
