A breach of privilege notice in Maharashtra Assembly against veteran actor Anupam Kher for his alleged derogatory comments against the Constitution.


After the question hour the issue was raised by Jitendra Avhad
Jitendra Avhad is National Congress Party member that is NCP member.
Jitendra Avhad said that he had brought veteran actor Anupam Khers
derogatory comments against the Constitution to the notice of the members on Friday and the Speaker had issued directives to the Home department to look into the matter and take appropriate action.

Jintendra Avhad said that he saw on TV, Kher repeating his tirade against the Constitution.

The NCP member requested the Speaker to convert Avhads oral statement into a notice of breach of privilege.

Avhad was supported by
Bala Nandgaonkar (MNS),
Amin Patel (Congress) and several members
BJP's Sudhir Mungantiwar
Prakash Shendge too supported the demand to move a breach of privilege against Kher, considered close to the party.
Kiron Kher, the wife of Anupam Kher is a permanent invitee on the BJP National Executive.

Speaker Dilip Walse Patil accepted the demand of members that their statements made in the House be accepted as privilege notice against the actor.

Speaker Dilip Walse Patil asked the members to give the notice of breach of privilege in writing that will be sent to the Privileges Committee.

What Anupam Kher on TV?
They say that Kher had reportedly said the "Constitution should be thrown out on some TV show when he was supporting Anna Hazare.

I have not heard this statement of Anupam Kher, if u heard this statement then ok.
What I heard is that he was talking about the amendment of Constitution.

Mungantiwar said that Freedom of speech can not be allowed to be misused.

Members demanded that Anupam Kher be sent to jail for his statement.
BJP MLA and party State chief Sudhir Mungantiwar said that A notice would be sent to Mr. Kher to which he had to submit a reply.

Police Said that tonight the house of actor Anupam Kher was attacked, stones were pelted at his house in suburban Juhu around 8pm. A few window-panes were broken by alleged activists of Republican Party of India (RPI) who protested his remarks on the Indian constitution.

The police have taken 11 persons into custody.

Both Anupam and his wife were not at home when this attack took place. A case is being registered with the Juhu Police station

This the difference between peaceful protest and such hoologinism. if something bothering them they can always take him to court, but attacking his property shows lack of patience. Things should be systematically handled not with this kind of dadagiri. First we should put these people behind bars for taking the law into their own hands.
