'Mumbai Unplugged' or the 'Batti Gul' campaign was initiated to make people aware of the drastic consequences of the global warming and deteriorating environmental conditions.

Many of the five star hotels in the city like the Taj and Hilton Towers had lit their hotels with lamps and had switched off the lights.
