Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani announced that Reliance’s JioFiber service, which will bring high-speed broadband to homes, is officially ready for commercial rollout at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM), in Mumbai on Monday

RIL has invested 3.5 lakh crore in Jio. About 1.25 lakh crore into hard infrastructure.
Jio is 5G ready.

Mukesh Ambani has announced that Jio Fiber rollout will be completed in the next 12 months.

Mukesh Ambani said that “Today, I want to announce that starting 5 September, on the third anniversary of Jio, we are commercially launching Jio Fiber. In relation to Jio Fiber, its base price will start at 100 Mbps and goes up to 1Gbps,”

JioFiber plans will start at Rs 700 per month going up to Rs 10,000 per month.

Ambani says voice calls will be free of Jio Fiber subscribers and users will have to pay for either voice or data. The company also announced unlimited voice calls pack which will be available for Rs 500 for US and Canada.

Mukesh Ambani confirmed that the JioFiber will be available from September 5, which is the third anniversary of Jio.

'Local cable operators (LCO) have suffered thanks to DTH companies. We have designed a Jio TV set box to accept the signal from our LCO partners. So now every Jio GigaFiber home will have access to content from the LCO, thus ensuring that local cable operators continue to function," said Mukesh Ambani.

The fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service is also combining landlines with free voice calls and a set-top-box for access to television.

Jio GigaFiber broadband basic plans will offer minimum 100Mbps speeds. Jio also says the maximum speeds offered will be up to 1 Gbps.

Customers will pay for only one service. So on JioFiber, voice calls from the home landline to any Indian operator, be it mobile or fixed – will be free forever.

Voice calls will be free of Jio Fiber subscribers and users will have to pay for either voice or data. The company also announced unlimited voice calls pack which will be available for Rs 500 for US and Canada.

JioFiber Plans will also come bundled with subscriptions to most leading premium OTT applications.

Jio announced its First-Day-First-Show offer as well, which will give Premium JioFiber customers access to watch new movies on the same day they are released in theatres.

First-Day-First-Show, this service is expected to launch in the middle of 2020.

As per Jio JioFiber customers who opt for annual plans which they call JIO-FOREVER plans will get an HD or 4K LED TV and a 4K SET-TOP-BOX absolutely free.

The Jio Mixed Reality Holo headset will be available for sale soon. The price has not been announced.

The Mixed Reality headset allows users to watch a movie as though they are sitting in a theatre.

RIL had acquired controlling stakes in three leading Cable MSOs (Multiple System Operators) which are Hathway, DEN and GTPL

Jio is launching its multi-player gaming network as well. The Jio Set top-box will support all gaming control.
Jio Set top-box will support 4K gaming. Jio is promising zero latency while playing on the GigaFiber network.

Jio is introducing Video conferencing solutions for home. The calls can be conducted from the television set itself. The Jio GigaFiber service will comes with a set-top box and has a video calls solution.

Jio will use Narrow-band Internet of Things (IoT) to connect 1 billion devices across in India.
Jio IoT platform will come from Jan 1, 2020.

Jio and Microsoft have entered into a long term alliance to launch cloud data centers across India powered by Azure.

Reliance will roll the JioFiber Welcome Offer that will provide a set-top box (STB) and TV set along with cable television broadcast from local cable operators (LCOs) and a bouquet of high-definition channels. Details of the tariff will be available from September 5, 2019
