BJP Government rejects names given by collegium for Allahabad HC

BJP Government rejects names given by collegium for Allahabad HC

Once again BJP Government has rejected the 19 names of judges suggested by Collegium system of Supreme Court of Judges for the Allahabad High Court.

The collegium, headed by Chief Justice T S Thakur, had reiterated the 19 names in November after the Centre sent them back for reconsideration. Traditionally, once the collegium reiterated names returned by the Centre, the government gave effect to the recommendations

Maybe I am wrong but from the behavior of BJP Government it seems that BJP government is purposefully doing this as Supreme Court Judges of India are not ready to come under the elected politicians and work as a CBI or RBI currently RBI is working just like CBI only taking orders from elected politicians.

Appearing for the Centre, attorney general (AG) Mukul Rohatgi told a bench of Chief Justice T S Thakur and Justice D Y Chandrachud that the government had decided to return the 19 names recommended by the collegium for appointment as judges to the Allahabad HC. This caught the CJI by surprise. Justice Thakur said "we had reiterated the names" to remind the government about the tradition by which it is bound to give effect to the appointments. But the AG said the government had found certain procedural deficiencies in the recommendations, and sought reconsideration.

Government controls the CBI if they know ABC judge is corrupt they can order CBI to investigate and arrest the concern Judge after collecting all the evidences and making full proof case.

As BJP government, do not respect the independence of Judiciary this is one reason you should not vote for BJP.

CJI Thakur retires on Tuesday, and, on Wednesday, Justice Khehar takes oath as the 44th CJI.

RBI was no. 1, trustworthy organization under Governor Rajan, He left and RBI lost everything. RBI is working like a parrot.

Hope Just like Honorable CJI Thakur, Justice Khehar will also see that Judiciary does not become come under the elected politicians.

I think, as a lay man, the norms followed had no flaws in them. Then why do they want to change?
