Gujarat Congress wins 21 out of 31 rural panchayats BJP wins Urban

By winning 21 out of 31 District panchayats in Gujarat Congress made a great comeback.

Last 20 years Congress was not in power in Gujarat.

BJP retained its hold over the urban areas winning all six municipal corporations namely Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Jamangar and Bhavnagar and 40 of the 56 municipalities.

The BJP won 40 of the 56 municipalities, while the Congress won 9.

Of the 31 district panchayats, the Congress won 21 and BJP won 6.

The BJP had won 30 district panchayats in the last elections in 2010.

In 230 taluka panchayats having 4778 seats, the Congress won 2509, while the BJP won 1981.

BJP has won but this is a warning sign for BJP.
