The USA Supreme court ruled by a 5-4 majority that the American constitution guarantees nationwide rights to same-sex marriages, making it legal in all 50 states now.

Justice Anthony M Kennedy wrote that
“No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family,”
“In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were.”
Justice Anthony M. Kennedy said gay and lesbian couples had a fundamental right to marry.
US Constitution guarantees a right to same-sex marriage.

The Obama administration backed the right of same-sex couples to marry.
