BJP government orders Police Probe to check PK content

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis-led BJP government of Maharashtra announced an investigation to find out about alleged objectionable scenes in the film PK

Minister of state for home Ram Shinde said that he has asked senior police officer Deven Bharti, IG (law & order), to look into objectionable scenes, if any, in the film and has promised “necessary” action if any “wrong” is found.

The censor board has maintained a tough stand on this and has clearly denied to make any changes to the films content as it is already out for Public viewing.

Media reported that a single screen in Mumbai has stopped the screening of ‘pk’ for the fear of its property being vandalized.
Activists allegedly belonging to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad threatened the owner to stop the screening or to face dire consequences.

On Sunday, Bajrang Dal activists had protested at 18 locations in Mumbai. Of these, one cinema hall, Matterden (formerly Deepak Cinema) in Parel, called off screenings amid police security. On Monday the Bajrang Dal vandalized theatres in Gujarat and warned them to stop screenings.

As per media reports VHP, Bajrang Dal and Jan Jagriti Samiti have sought an immediate ban on the movie

The Uttar Pradesh government announced that Aamir Khan’s movie “PK” will be exempted from tax
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said PK is a very nice movie
It was a “very nice” film.
CM Yadav criticized people and organizations for protesting against the film, saying they were doing it without any valid reason.

Former Bihar chief minster Nitish Kumar gave "full 10 marks out of 10" to Aamir Khan's film 'PK', saying it is not only entertaining but also creates awareness.

India is a democratic nation

Do you think now Modi Government should scrap the Censor Board and allow religions organizations and moral police organizations  to censor movies?

Both Supreme Court and Censor Board have dismissed objections against the film PK.

The issue with Pk, IMO, is: it makes fun of people's sensibilities. While that is not wrong or against the law, the movie makers could have been more sensitive.
