Telecom operator Uninor closed its Mumbai operations 1.8 million phones stop working who will pay compensation

Telecom operator Uninor closed its Mumbai operations 1.8 million phones stop working who will pay compensation

The Supreme Court of India on Saturday ordered all the operators who did not win spectrum in the previous auctions should close down services immediately.

The court had cancelled 22 licenses of Uninor in February 2012.

Uninor has declared that it would extend all possible assistance to its employees in Mumbai for finding new employment opportunities.

Telenor participated in November 2012 auction through new entity Telewings Communications and won spectrum in six circles.

Telenor is now in process of transferring business of Uninor to Telewings Communications

Uninor in a press statement said that Telenor, the majority stakeholder of Uninor has won rights to airwaves in six circles and the operations will continue in these areas as fresh spectrum for 20 years has been secured. Thus, all Uninor customers from Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, and other circles will continue to be able to use their Uninor phones in Mumbai.

What about the customers of Mumbai, will they get compensation for the mental harassment?

In same case what will happen in USA?

Once again, this case exposes that Indian laws and system is toothless

Will anybody dare to file a compensation complaint in an Indian court?

Even if somone files a case in  in Consumer Court  How much fine he will be awarded and how much time he will have to spend?

How much fine he will get US 100 Dollars or US 5 Dollars?
