Know 10 Demands Charter of Eleven major trade unions that are on two-day strike 20th and 21st Feb 2013

Central Trade Union has called 2-day strike.
The strike has been called by Bhartiya Mazdoor Sabha, INTUC, All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), HMS, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), and All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC) among others

The trade unions said the committee headed by Defence Minister A K Antony failed to give them any concrete proposal and not a single demand made by them was accepted by it.
The two-hour long meeting was attended by representatives of all the 11 trade unions which have given the strike call.

The employees of the Reserve Bank of India have said they will participate in the two-day strike
In Delhi, auto rickshaws and taxis are expected to be off roads

In Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi or TRS has announced its support to the two-day general strike.

In all the Nationalized, Private, Gramin, Co-operative banks and RBI employees and officers will be on strike. Govt. is not serious to talk to the Central trade Unions.

10 lacs Bank employees and officer under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) will join 2 days strike on 20th and 21st Feb. 2013 in support of CTUs.

Following is the list of 10 demands or Charter of Central Trade Unions who are on 2 day strike.

10 DEMANDS CHARTER  OF CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS

1)  
Concrete measures to contain price rise

2)  
Concrete measures for employment generation

3)  
Strict enforcement of labour laws

4)  
Universal social security cover for organized and unorganized workers and creation of National Social Security Fund and

5)  
Stoppage of disinvestment in Central and State PSUs / Undertakings

6)  
No Contractorisation of work of permanent / perennial nature and payment of wages and benefits to the contract workers at the same rate as available to the regular workers of the industry / establishment

7)  
Amendment of Minimum Wages Act to ensure universal coverage irrespective of the schedules and fixation of statutory minimum wage at not less than Rs.10, 000/- linked with cost price index

8)  
Remove all ceilings on payment and eligibility of Bonus, Provident Fund; Increase the quantum of gratuity

9)  
Assured Pension for all

10)  
Compulsory registration of trade unions within a period of 45 days and immediate ratification of the ILO Conventions Nos. 87 and 98


Government should accept following demands immediately

1)  
Compulsory registration of trade unions within a period of 45 days and immediate ratification of the ILO Conventions Nos. 87 and 98

2)  
Pension Provision For all

3)  
Social security cover


The above 3 demands government should accept it.
