J&K Government amends RTI act makes it useless kills the soul of RTI and its purpose

J&K Government amends RTI act makes it useless kills the soul of RTI and its purpose

Jammu and Kashmir
Omar Abdullah-led government has repealed detailed rules guiding implementation of the Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information Act-2009.

Old rules got 27 pages and new rules introduced by government got only six pages.

From this, only you can understand how much government has deleted.

The old rules had provisions about the structure and the working of the information commission, such as division of labour, working hours, vacations etc. The new rules delete all these provisions,”

old rules made it binding on official to implement orders.

According to a new clause, one has to move the high court to get an order implemented.

The new rules are silent about implementation of SIC orders and appeals.

The amendments are also silent about procedure for filing first appeal and counter before first appellate authority.

Will you go to High Court for implementation of orders?

When High Court will give orders after 1 year or 10 years?

This is one reason never to vote for Omar Abdullah and his party.

The new rules have removed the fear from the officers and now they will not obey anyone and RTI applications may get thrown into the dustbin.

what is the use of filing applications and getting orders when there is no compulsion on anyone to follow them.

Is it not the waste of time?

Will not give rise and scope to do more and more corruption.
