Listen to Song Shiladityo- with an apology to Rabindranath by Kabir Suman

Kabir Suman  wrote the words, did the voice and music tracks, edited and mixed them on 13 August 2012.
He used the melody of a Rabindra song. My apologies to Rabindranath.

The song, a tribute to the farmer, Shiladitya Chowdhury, who was recently arrested for asking uncomfortable’ questions at Ms. Banerjee publicly, has been released on Mr. Suman’s website.

Shiladityo – with an apology to Rabindranath’ is a parody of Tagore songs. The song ‘Momo chitte’ (In my mind) composed by Tagore in 1910.

The song goes like this
Get Shiladitya and throw him into prison,
Let’s make him a servant’
Because ‘he protests’
And such people are always ‘Maoists,’
