What a beautiful, magical and haunting melody that went straight to the heart 5 decades ago and stayed there since, unchanged, with all its beautiful romantic memories. With the english translation it, today , takes a much higher romantic dimension specially for a non-Hindi speaking like me . Many Thanks for the upload and translation. Selva Pillay Mauritius.

Thank you for the translation of the lyrics. I live in Cleveland, Ohio, USA , and my boyfriend in Mumbai, recently sent me a silver bracelet, with the words of the first 2 lines, of this song inscribed on it, in Hindi. An Indian friend, translated the Hindi words, but had some difficulty translating the meaning of the words into literal English.
Thanks to your web site, I now realize what the words mean and their intent. I also realize that my boyfriend, did NOT write the lyrics, or have the song inscribed on the bracelet. He merely bought the bracelet, with the song inscribed, at a local bazaar, and mailed it to me.
Never the less, I love my boyfriend, very much.

This immortal song always haunts me for the last 54 years.shakkeel badayuni sab penned some immortal lines and the ravi sab who knows the way to human heart gave it immortal music and was rendered with all its sperit by the legendary rafi sab.guruduttgi and waheeda rehman and the cameraman and all others associated with the depiction of the song ,oh my language is so poor to express my admiration for those giants of indian cenema
