Tax Payers Rs 7.25 Crore Spent on advertisements on the birth anniversaries of Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi

Tax Payers Rs 7.25 Crore Spent on advertisements on the birth anniversaries of Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi

Government of India spent Rs. 4.79 crore and Rs 2.46 crore on print media advertisements in 2011 on the birth anniversaries of former Prime Ministers Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi respectively.

As per details given by the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting C M
Jatua expenses were made as follows.

Following is the list of amount spent by various ministries for Rajiv Gandhi's
birth anniversary –

1. Ministry of Health: R 95 lakh

2. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy: R 82 lakh

3. Ministry of Tourism: R 79 lakh

4. Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation: R 65 lakh

5. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting: R 58 lakh

6. Ministry of Social Justice: R 51 lakh

7. Ministry of Women and Child Development Ministry: R 25 lakh

8. Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises: R 21 lakh

Following is the list of amount spent by various ministries for Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary

1. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting: R 60 lakh

2. Ministry of Social Justice: R 56 lakh.

3. Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises: R 41 lakh

4. Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region: R 25 lakh

5. Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation: R 22 lakh.

6. Ministry of Water Resources: R 19 lakh

7. Ministry of Women and Child Development: R 19 lakh

Again we need to reform and stop such type of expenses.

It’s the tax payer’s money so it should be only spent on the common benefit of Indian citizens.

We need a law which will prohibit such type of expenses.
A law which will make political parties to spent money from their own pockets.

Farmers commit suicide, schools are held under tree. Villages do not have drinking water and good roads, in such conditions India needs to spend Tax payer’s money
Intelligently.

Its unbelievable and surprising that such a big amount has been spent for birth anniversary of former Prime Minister. In our country poverty is getting increased but the politicians are not bothered about it.
