Filmmaker Ketan Dixit who dared Screened India’s Daughter in Agra Detained by Police

Independent filmmaker Ketan Dixit reportedly screen the documentary on the Nirbhaya rape case by Leslee Udwin to an audience in the Roop Dhanu village of Anwalkheda, about 40km from Agra on Sunday.

Police also reportedly confiscated Dixit's laptop, pen drive and a projector that he had used for the same.

DNA reported that Dixit, who is also a campaigner for the Stop Acid Attacks organisation, said he had organised the screening in his individual capacity to protest against the ban.

Editors Guild of India urged the government to revoke the ban on the documentary, a NDTV channel on Monday ran a blank screen for one hour to protest the ban.

Let us hope Government of India accepts the reality in documentary and revokes the ban.

Let us hope documentary gets shown in all over the world and wins all the prestigious awards.

PTI reported that the documentary Storyville: India's daughter' has premiered in the US with Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep, Frieda Pinto and actor Farhan Akhtar in attendance as a show of support for the film banned in India.

Delhi Police on Friday registered an FIR in connection with the screening of India’s Daughter a classic documentary
The FIR was registered under section 188 of IPC (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) at R K Puram Police Station

Delhi police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told to media that “Nobody has been named in the FIR so far. Police have launched the investigation in connection with the screening of this documentary,”
