AAP Arvind Kejriwal to launch nonprofit Television Channel

AAP Arvind Kejriwal to launch nonprofit Television Channel

Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan told to media that they are planning to launch a television channel, will be non-profit, and will focus on public issues.

Bhushan told that it will not be only AAP television channel but it will be a representative of people interested in public issues.
“It won’t be AAP's channel, but will belong to a broader group. We are facilitating the formation of a public service broadcaster,”
“We are creating a team and we have to organize the funds. It will take some time

It is a good decision by AAP to launch a nonprofit television channel.

Last December few television channels showed the live press conference of Arvind Kejriwal in which Arvind made allegations against RIL and others.

After that Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) sent a defamation notice to some TV channels who had aired their (Kejriwal and Bhushan’s) live press conferences

The notice referred specifically to a press conference by Kejriwal and Bhushan in November last year, accusing the government of being prejudiced in favor of RIL in the matter of increasing the rates of gas extracted from the Cauvery basin.

AAP is not the first political party who is preparing to launch a Television channel.

1-
Jaya TV = AIADMK

2-
Kalaignar TV = owned by the DMK in Tamil Nadu.

3-
Congress owns the Jaihind channel in Kerala

4-
Kairali TV is associated with the Left

There are many channels launched by other political parties as well, in TN. I think this is a good move, they can reach more people. But will people watch this channel? For that, they need to air interesting programs as well.
