TN Gov. decides to release seven terrorist killers of Rajiv Gandhi

On February 18, 2014 Supreme Court of India gave the historical and excellent judgement Supreme Court commuted the death sentence of three assassins of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to life imprisonment

Now we must understand that
In India punishment of Life imprisonment does not mean that a criminal will stay in a jail until he dies

Tamil Nadu government decided to release all seven convicts –
Following are the names of seven convicts who are currently are serving time in a Tamil Nadu jail.

1)Santhan

2)Murugan

3)Perarivalan

4)Nalini

5)Robert Pious

6)Jayakumar

7)Ravichandran


The decision was announced in the state assembly by chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

The cabinet decision will be forwarded to the Centre and it will wait for three days for it respond to the decision.
If a response does not come within three days, the state will exercise its powers and release them.

Nalini's death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment in 2000 after Congress president Sonia Gandhi recommended her case on humanitarian grounds.

India needs to abolish death penalty , capital punishment by brining amendment
This way it will say time of everyone Judiciary, and President and Government of India
