Goa Police file FIR against Tarun Tejpal Tehelka Rape Case

Goa Police have registered an FIR against senior journalist Tarun Tejpal, editor-in-chief and publisher of Tehelka newsmagazine

Tejpal had allegedly sexually assaulted a young journalist twice on November 7 and 8 during Tehelka's Think 2013 event in Goa.

Media reported that FIR accuses Tejpal of attempt to rape and outraging the modesty of a woman.

The Goa Police had lodged an FIR against Tejpal under sections
376 (rape),
376 (2) (k) (rape by a person of a woman in his custody taking advantage of his official position)
354 (outraging modesty) of IPC in connection with the incident.

After filing of FIR Goa police may summon Tarun Tejpal or may arrest Tarun Tejpal

Tarun Tejpal may file an application for anticipatory bail in session’s court.
