Lokayukta Police Raid on Karnataka deputy CM KS Eshwarappa regarding corruption

Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa is also president of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state unit.


Eshwarappa holds the revenue and rural development and Panchayat raj portfolios in government.

 Police have registered an FIR (First Information Report) against Eshwarappa, his son KE Kantesh and daughter-in-law Shalini on a complaint by Shimoga advocate B Vinod.

The complaint alleged that Eshwarappa had acquired huge properties in Shimoga through corrupt means.

Lokayukta (ombudsman) Police today raided the residences of deputy chief minister KS Eshwarappa here and in his hometown Shimoga in search of evidence in a corruption case.

Reason for Raid –

To probe the charge that Eshwarappa had amassed properties through corrupt means.

Suggested Reform = No Bail Non bailable offence

Politicians are not MANGO people so no one is going to make a corruption a non-bailable offence.

The team that raided Eshwarappa’s house Jayalakshmi Nivasa at Malleshwaranagar has recovered following

1)some documents belonging to land and other buildings

2)32 kg  of silver

3)1.900 kgs of gold ornaments

4)Rs10 lakh in cash and few other documents according to the source.

The raid will continue for another day all across the properties of Eshwarappa and his family in Shimoga City.
