Game of Thrones Revealed Secret meaning behind the Night King's spiral symbol
Dave Hill, the writer of the first episode of Game of thrones season 8 has revealed the meaning behind The Night Kings spirals.
The Night Kings spiral symbol gets highlighted when Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) and Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) discovered 10-year-old Ned Umber nailed to a wall, surrounded by severed body parts.
Dave told The New York Post following when he was asked what you can tell us about the spiral the White Walkers create with Ned Umber’s body and severed arms. This pattern has appeared a lot on the show.
Dave told to NYP that as we saw with Bran and the Three-Eyed Raven, the spiral pattern was sacred to the Children of the Forest, who created the Night King by sacrificing a captured man in a spiral “henge of stones.” The Night King then adopted the symbol as a sort of blasphemy, like Satan with the upside-down cross.

I remember my friends and I spent hours debating the meaning behind the Night King’s spiral symbol after that intense season 8 premiere. We were all glued to the screen when they found young Ned Umber, and honestly, it gave us chills. Later, I dug around online and found some great breakdowns that confirmed our suspicions about it being a twisted version of the Children of the Forest’s sacred pattern. It really adds a whole new layer to the lore, doesn’t it? Speaking of finding good info online, if you are looking for a reliable place to catch up on shows or just browse, you might want to check out the bet365 official website for a change of pace. The whole idea that the Night King perverted their magic is such a cool, dark detail that makes the re-watch even better.
