Tamil weekly magazine Nakkeeran published an article allegedly demeaning AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
After that Activists of the ruling AIADMK ransacked the office of Tamil weekly magazine Nakkeeran in protest against an article.

Media reported that a group of AIADMK workers, barged into the office and ransacked it, damaging window panes and furniture.
They set fire to a bundle of the copies of the magazine s latest edition. They also damaged several vehicles parked in the office premises.

They burned the 100 copies of the magazine also.

The violence follows the publication of an article on January 7 containing some references to the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa affecting her religious sentiments.

Volunteers of the ruling AIADMK led by Health Minister V Vijay also staged a protest against Tamil magazine "Nakkeeran"

In an update on its website, 'Nakkheeran' said AIADMK workers attacked its office at Royapettah here using wooden logs and bottles.
It said copies of the magazine were being burnt down by AIADMK supporters all over the state.

Nakkheeran Editor Gopal, told to media that they came in teams and attacked our premises, damaging property, including cars and two-wheelers,"

HT reported that the incident happened in presence of Police.

Why police did not stop them?

What is the duty of the police?

Police are the servants of the Indian citizens or the servants of Political parties.?

Do you think action should be taken on the police officers in whose presence the incident happened.?

The solution again simple we need to amend the laws and make it very strict so once if you are caught then he should remember it forever and by seeing that others will learn the lesson.

You can swing your umbrella, but it should not touch my nose - that is freedom, said Johnson. Nakkeeran editorial team should be trained in swinging their umbrellas in this manner. The training will have to be under the able supervision of a jail warder.
