The censor certificate (No. 55781) was issued on 7 December 1968, and the film Haseena Maan Jayegi was officially released in theatres on 20 December 1968.

This was the directorial debut of Prakash Mehra, who later became a legendary filmmaker with hits like Zanjeer and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.

The film features Shashi Kapoor in his first-ever double role (playing the characters Kamal and Rakesh).

The 1968 film Haseena Maan Jayegi was was primarily shot in Mumbai with some studio work at the now defunct Roop Tara Studio.
