BJP New Poverty Line Rs.47 Cities and Rs. 32 Village
An expert panel headed by former RBI governor C Rangarajan said
Indian citizens spending over Rs 32 a day in rural areas and Rs 47 in towns and cities should not be considered poor, in a report submitted to the BJP government last week.
TOI reported that the Rangarajan panel has suggested to the government that those spending more than Rs 972 a month in rural areas and Rs 1,407 a month in urban areas in 2011-12 do not fall under the definition of poverty.
One US Dollar = Indian Rs. 59 to 60
The problem is that the method used by those experts is wrong thus we get such wrong results

It's also not OK,even though a slight enhancement is given.
ReplyDeleteRBI governor must keep aside his age old method of analyzing poverty and practically try to live life in the given spending amount...Why even they publish these fake poverty line statistics.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they started calculating this many decades earlier but are publishing it only now!
