How many Court Cases are pending in Indian Courts?
President Pranab Mukherjee told to media that
1-
The judicial system in India is weak in speedily dispensing justice.
2-
But the strength and effectiveness of the judiciary, which is the guardian of our democracy, depends on the two pillars of the justice delivery system - quality and speed.
Of these two pillars of an effective judicial architecture, our system is weak in speedily dispensing justice.
3-
The backlog of cases in our courts is very disconcerting.
The total pendency of cases in the Indian courts is a staggering 3.1 crores

With limited resources, there is only as much the judiciary can do. But increasing the efficiency of their affairs, is very much in their control. This slowliness of justice delivery discourages many people from utilizing the services of the judiciary - we don't know how many more are affected due to it!
