US regulator FCC scraps net neutrality rules that protect open internet
Under the net neutrality rules ISPs were specifically prohibited from blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization of “lawful” traffic. In addition, Internet providers could be regulated as carriers under Title II.
Now Net Neutrality got scrapped and ISPs are free to do what they want.
The Republican-dominated Federal Communications Commission has scrap US net neutrality rules adopted in the final years of the Obama administration.
The end came on Thursday afternoon in Washington, as commissioners voted 3-2, on party lines
The Federal Communications Commission, in a 3-2 vote, adopted a proposal by Republican appointed chairman Ajit Pai, who said his plan would end “heavy-handed” rules which discourage investment and innovation.
In addition to scraping its own net neutrality rules, the Federal Communications Commission also plans to tell state and local governments that they cannot impose local laws regulating broadband service.
The approval of FCC chairman Ajit Pai's proposal marked a victory for internet service providers like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon Communications, and hands them power over what content consumers can access.
What will be effect of scrapping of net neutrality?
The cable companies, internet providers will charge more money, they now got legal power to do what they want and charge more and more money.
Broadband, internet companies will provide more speed to Facebook if Facebook pays them and open source will get slow speed, this will kill the innovation in USA.
The internet company may speed up the speed of internet of ABC site if ABC site pays extra money to internet company, this will kill innovation, competition as Rich companies got unlimited funds, but the collage students got the limited fund.
No speed, no visitors on site and no success only option is work for the big rich websites and corporations.
I do not know how much money business companies paid to Republican party to scrap the net neutrality.
Suppose they paid 1 billion American dollars to scrap the net neutrality and now these companies will charge more and see that whatever they paid to Republicans they will recover from American citizens, the net users.
Now the time has come for American citizens and labor unions to do strike and see that President Donald Trump cancels his plan.
Otherwise future of American kids is in danger, as it will kill all the opportunities available to poor, lower class or middle class American citizens.
American citizens and who ever supported Donald Trump made a very big mistake, including myself supported Donald Trump, never ever again vote for Donald Trump or support him.
