RTI RBI Refuses to reveal why notes of Rs.500 and 1000 were banned

On 8th November 2016, RBI and PM Narendra Modi both came together and banned the currency notes of Rs.500 and Rs. 1000

BJP and PM Narendra Modi gave many reasons for banning the notes but they failed 100% in achieving them.

Responding to an RTI application filed by activist Venkatesh Nayak, the Banker’s Bank refused to disclose the minutes of the crucial meetings of Central Board of Directors on the issue of demonetization citing section 8(1)(a) of the transparency law.

RBI has also refused to give any details about the time it will take to replenish the currency notes.

RBI has also refused to disclose reasons behind the demonetization of about Rs 20 lakh crore of currency in the country citing Section 8(1)(a) of the Right to Information Act.

Bloomberg News filed a RTI replying that RTI, RBI said that the decision to withdraw the high denomination currency to the central government was taken at 5:30 pm on November 8 at a board meeting.

RBI is just hiding their mistakes on the name of the secrecy.
