Granite Quarrying Scam Police looking for Durai Dayanidhi, Union Minister MK Alagiri’s son

On August 7, Police registered a case against 10 persons, including Durai Dayanidhi, charging companies owned by them with mining sand and granite without permission.

A report by the former District Collector U Sagayam, estimated loss to the Indian citizens because of illegal quarrying at Rs. 16,338 crore.

17 FIRs have been filed against eight companies, including Olympus, in connection with the scam.
Durai was a director in Olympus Granite till 2010.

Media reported that now Police  have alerted immigration authorities to help them in preventing Durai Dayanidhi, Union Minister MK Alagiri’s son, and 11 others from leaving the country in connection with alleged illegal granite quarrying scam.

The anticipatory bill of Alagiri's son will be heard on September 4.
