Election Commission Announced President Election Date and Counting of Vote Dates

Today, when Anna Hazare was addressing the citizens of India same time suddenly The Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath announced the schedule.


As per schedule

1.  
the notification for the election will be issued on June 16

2.  
the last day for making nominations is June 30

3.  
date of scrutiny of nominations on July 2

4.  
the last day for withdrawal of nominations is July 4

5.  
The presidential election will take place on July 19

6.  
counting of votes will happen on July 22



Nominated members of the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and state Assemblies are not entitled to vote.

The electoral college for the Presidential poll is 4,896, constituting 776 Members of Parliament and 4,120 Members of Legislative Assemblies, including those of Delhi and Puducherry.

The total value of votes is 10,98,882 with that of MLAs being 5,49,474 and that of MPs being 5,49,408.


Whoever becomes the president of India it does not matter his one and only duty is nothing but to sign on the papers given by Prime Minister.

As Election commission started its press conference after Anna Hazare conference all the media channels started showing the election commission conference and not the Anna Hazare Conference.
