Friday –

On Friday Parliament Standing Committee tabled final draft on
the Lokpal Bill.

In the Lok Sabha, committee member Pinaki Misra tabled the tabled final draft on
the Lokpal Bill.

Media reported that Standing Committee had 30 members.

Two never attended.

Sixteen dissented.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice, Public Grievances and Personnel tabled the Lokpal Bill in the Rajya Sabha.

It is not compulsory for the Government of India to accept the final draft prepared by standing committee.
A total of 16 dissenting notes accompany the report.


Few recommendations of Final draft of Lokpal Bill –

1. Group C and D bureaucrats should be brought under state Lokayuktas and at the Central level under the Chief Vigilance Commissioner.

2. Lokpal Bill draft recommends that CBI should not be under the Lokpal.


3. Regarding Prime Minister the draft recommends that the question of including the Prime Minister under the Lokpal's purview should be left to Parliament. Parliament should decide it.

Not acceptable. Country is demanding a good Lokpal and Standing Committee has no feeling for the citizens of this country.
